60 local, overseas agencies to join two-day job fair in Davao City

DAVAO CITY, Feb. 21 (PNA) – More than 60 local and overseas agencies are joining the two-day job fair on Feb. 24-25 at the University of Mindanao gymnasium along Bolton-A. Bonifacio Street, this city

The two-day event is an annual job fair conducted by the University of Mindanao through Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Davao City government.

There are 62 employment agencies, companies and government institutions who confirmed their participation for the said event. It is expected to be attended by more than 1,500 job seekers mostly UM students and graduates.

A series of Pre-Employment Seminar for Local Applicants (PESLA) were held to prepare the job seekers for the screening process of the companies. The first batch was attended by more than 600 applicants last January while the second was held last Feb. 16.

PESLA hopes to prepare applicants for their job hunt/job search effort. They will be given tips on what to prepare and how to prepare a winning resume and interview.

Local and overseas jobs await the potential and qualified applicants during the two-day job fair.

Some companies who have confirmed for their participation are San Miguel, Unifrutti, Banco de Oro, Holy Cross of Davao College, One Network Bank, MHHR Recruitment, FSC International Manpower, among others.

Meanwhile, the job fair of UM was hailed by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao as the most organized and the biggest job fair in the region.

The conduct of PESLA was also given special citation by DOLE. (PNA)
