Kepco, Salcon to install electricity distribution lines to remote Negros Occidental villages
BACOLOD
CITY, March 7 (PNA) – The Korean Electric Power Corp. (Kepco) and Salcon
Corp. have agreed to jointly finance the installation of electricity
transmission lines to some 184 remote sitios/puroks in Negros
Occidental.
The KEPCO, Salcon and the Central Negros Electric
Cooperative, Inc. (Ceneco)during a series of surveys, have identified
the areas that have yet been electrified.
Ceneco's coverage areas include the cities of Bacolod,
Silay, Talisay and Bago, and the municipalities of Murcia and Don
Salvador Benedicto.
Based on the results of the survey, 23 sitios or purok from
Bacolod City will benefit from the installation of electricity lines,
two from the Municipality of Murcia, 80 from Bago City, 47 from Silay
City and 32 from Talisay City.
To date 19 percent of the project has been accomplished
which is equivalent to, more or less, 35 sitios or purok, as reported by
Engr. Mario L. Nicolas, general manager of MN Electro Industrial Supply
& Services, the contractor of the said project. (PNA)
