4P's Set 3 program registers 900 new household beneficiaries in Cabanglasan, Bukidnon

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, March 7 (PNA) – At least 900 household beneficiaries were registered as recipient of the Set 3 of the “Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program” or 4P’s in Northern Mindanao town, said region’s social welfare information officer Recthie B. Tolinero, on Saturday.

Tolinero said Cabanglasan town in Bukidnon province had been identified as one of program's recipients in Northern Mindanao.

The new registered household beneficiaries in Cabanglasan will be receiving a maximum of P1,400 per household each month. The conditional cash grant will be used to improve their family's health and education.

The 4P’s Set 3 program which will accommodate at least one million household beneficiaries nationwide, is being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The DSWD field office in Region 10 has conducted an orientation to the local government units (LGU) and service providers to harmoniously implement the Set 3 program in the area.

The partner agencies were informed on the goals, benefits and conditions of the program that will heavily need their cooperation and active participation.

The LGU’s were informed of their roles in the implementation of 4P’s in their localities. The LGU’s main role is ensure that the health and educational needs of the people in their areas will be met specifically in the supply side.

"Several 4Ps municipalities in the region have already shown their support to the program by building more schools, increasing the number of teachers, providing PhilHealth cards and adding more health facilities and medicines," said 4P’s Focal Person Raiz Ampaso.

The 4P’s is one of the strategies of the government to alleviate poverty by providing conditional cash grants to the extremely poor households to improve their health, nutrition and education specifically the children aged 0-14.

The household beneficiaries were determined through a Proxy-Means Test after the conduct of household enumeration in the municipality. (PNA)
